i don't think i ever posted since,have I? Well, in case you thought I had run away and was on the blacklist of the russian mafia-don't worry, this is not the case. In fact, I OWN the mafia now.

Well, we just came back 2 days ago from our honeymoon in Marrakech where we spent a gorgeous week with a very well deserved rest after being completely exhausted by a huge wedding, french friends and family to take care of while they came in Siberia for the occasion, the final administrative business to legalize the wedding for France as well, the trip to Moscow, the trip to France, the trip to Marocco...and now we are finally back at my parents' place for a little less than 2 weeks.

I thank all of you for wishing me the best and for thinking about me, i will try to talk a bit about all of it when i have the time because it was quite funny and interesting. You should have seen my parents attempting to say speech in the russian way (vodka included), some of this is unforgettable.
The wedding went pretty well but i guess that as always (Spook and Bluesy can maybe confirm??), the fun is more for the guests than for the newly weds...
So much stress that was!
I regret very much that I did not write earlier and i don't want you to think that I forgot you guys. There shall be new pictures on my site soon, but i am not sure i will post some of the wedding there, though.
Maybe i will send some by mail privately to whom is interested. But as crazy as it seems, amongst the 100th of pics taken, there is not one that is fully satisfying. There is always some stupid grinning man standing aloof, just next to my beautiful bride, I can't yet comprehend how the guy managed to appear on so many pictures. [:o]

Well well well, i still have plenty of things to do, so I'd better keep moving...

Hey Elfy, my fellow married person.

It's really not as strange as you think it's going to be, is it? I still feel relatively normal - well, as normal as I ever was before.

I had a kind of obscure terror before the big day that I'd tumble into a terrible abyss of depression the minute I was a wife, decide I'd made a ghastly mistake and make a bid for freedom before the honeymoon.

But no, all is well, exceedingly well.

The only thing I'm finding it hard to adjust to is not living at my house anymore! It's so weird not being in my OWN space anymore, even though I've probably spent more time here at Dom's for many months past. I still think of it as HIS space, you know? Last night was the first night we've spent here as a married couple (just got back from Denmark yesterday), and I so wanted to be at my own place!

The day itself turned out to be not at all like anything I had imagined, I'd never have guessed beforehand what they had planned. And yet, it was so completely appropriate and so touching that I actually did cry when I realised where I was going. Far from the exotic or weird location I'd been imagining, I ended up back in my hometown in Scotland. I was married in the same Catholic church where I was baptised as a baby, and where I went to mass every week as a child with my beloved grandmother. I walked in with my daughter and everyone was there, all my cousins and their kids, my brothers, my aunts and uncles. My mother, with whom I've had only sporadic contact the past few years. It was a proper, old-fashioned, Catholic family wedding. The very last thing I would have expected, and the most wonderful. I was so deeply touched by it, and amazed at how well the two people I love most in the world must know me, to know how much it would mean to me when I had no inkling myself until I walked in.

I guess it brought home to me what truly matters most to me; family, the bonds formed through blood and shared pasts. The good and the bad all together. Memories, connections. It's all we have, ultimately. I couldn't have had a more meaningful day, and for that I will be eternally grateful to them all.

We even managed not to have any fights at the reception, which I think you'll agree is pretty good going for a bunch of drunken working-class Scots.

A good friend of ours in Denmark gave us the use of her family's summer house in Aarhus for a couple of weeks, I've stayed there with them a couple of times before. It was perfect, just us two, beach nearby (the sort of wild northern beach I love - you can keep yer Costa del Sol!), not a great deal to do but then we were on honeymoon after all ....

So now it's back to earth with a bump, back to work on Monday [:xx] and my studies

and most blissfully to my kitty cats. [love]

Now me and my wife are already separated... [b)]
She's returned to Russia and I am stuck in France because of some problem with my visa...
And here i am again waiting. That's good though, because we had no time whatsoever to actually rest and realize what's happened... We still haven't been living on our own in our appartment without anyone around.
We had a great honeymoon in Marrocco and then some time in France, but i really want to go home and prepare our love's routine in order to set a machine that shall be able to remain exciting even in ten years time... [crazy]

I love this. You're already calling your new place in Russia your home.

"Home is where the heart is" is the title of a really cheesy and sentimental dramamovie from Hollywood. But there's some truth in that title.

I know what you mean, Elfy - you do need a sort of 'settling in' phase I think, at least that's what I'm finding.

I hope you and wifey will be reunited asap.
