Just to let you all know, I had a card from Sara (Yrwitch) this morning - she gave birth to a little boy on 23rd December. I think his name is Iker, but I'm not sure as the card is written in Dutch and Italian!
All possible love, health and happiness to the new mother and baby. May life always bless them. [akiss] [akiss] [akiss] [akiss]

Tell her we all say congratulations if you talk to her, will you elizabeth?
I'm sending her a card this week and will try to phone as well, so I'll send her everyone's love. Any of the old gang who still have her email or address, might be nice if you got in touch too, just to wish her and the baby well.

Of course not silly, the more the merrier! If anyone wants her address to send a card, just email me and I'll be very happy to pass it on (addy is in my profile).
HELLO MY DEAREST BUNCH OF LOONIES!!!
Yes, it's finally happened, my baby's born and yes, his name is Iker (basque name). I managed to avoid a Xmas baby, but I don't think it will make such a difference considering the date, I will try to make him feel the spirit of his birthday and of Xmas anyway.
Have to say, it's been harder than I expected, the escalation of events has been almost grotesque. My baby's not even 2 weeks old and I feel like I've been to war! Bear with me for a little sum up.
Iker was late, I went to the hospital for a normal baby-hart- mother-belly check up and I ended up delivering. It was an induced birth, can't describe the violence and quickness of it all, due to serious medical conditions he had to be pulled out as fast as possible. I can't say I had any control over my body nor what was happening. The only light moment was the brief second when I finally saw him and had him on my belly...
We were supposed to stay under observation for 24 hours (I delivered at 23.30 p.m), I was sent home immediately, the day after at 14 I was in my bed! On top of the normal weariness and after-birth pains, I got an infection, with high fever and stomach reaction to the antibiotic they gave me. Which meant I couldn't eat nor drink, while I'm breastfeeding.... No doc thought my situation was serious enough to come home and visit me, they indeed asked me to get in a car and go to the week-end guardpost and wait my turn!!! Finally they consented to prescribe me a medicine for the stomach over the phone, otherwise I doubt I would be here. But when I was finally gettin better my partner got the flu [fire]. I mean, how much can one take without going mad??? And no, the proverbial mothers' patience hasn't permeated me yet
Our house had also given up on us, the heating system freaked out and you can imagine what it means to have a cold house with an infant who needs to stay above a certain temperature and it's snowing and freezing outside! . We managed somehow and yesterday it's been all fixed, but our wallets are crying misery
About the little boy, he's indeed an angel. He's long and very strong and I find him irresistible, even though he's breaking my little body in pieces . But it's a weird mix of emotions still, I don't know when I will fully and totally feel like a mother...
I will LOOOOOVE to get some support cards, I really need it!
Gotta run eat a quick lunch, almost feeding time again.
See you soon I hope, will try to post some pix somewhere sometime...
Sara, so glad to see you here - everyone is delighted for you. [akiss] [akiss] [akiss]
It sounds like you've had a really tough time of it! Unfortunately babies don't care much for the plans you make over those months of pregnancy, things have a tendency to go awry when the time comes.
I hope you're starting to feel a little stronger, I'll be in touch soon for a good old natter so you can tell me all the grisly details!
