Hot Fuzz

Just saw this latest movie of the makers and main characters of "Shaun of the Dead", Hot Fuzz. It's hilarious and very well made british humour meets american action movie. All the references to other movies are great to spot (and much cleverer than any Scary Movie).

btw, they were also playing references to Romeo+Juliet including a song from that one; good thing it wasn't Stina's song

it's got a very high ranking on imdb.com now, so i guess many people laughed at this movie

Anyone who likes the humour in 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' should check out the origins of it in the UK channel 4 comedy series 'Spaced', by the same team. It was a real breath of fresh air when it first appeared, I laughed myself silly at it every week.

Spaced is pure genius, my favourite episode has to be where the pet dog gets kidnapped by the animal lab and they have to break in to save him...

Spaced, Black Books, Jam, Brass Eye, Big Train (Series 1), The IT Crowd, The Green Wing...all have connections to Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead...all worth checking out...Am dying to see Hot Fuzz but am waiting for DVD here in Oz, purely because any film that isn't a computer animated tale about farm animals or a rom com doesn't get a decent cinema release

Alas I go to the flicks so rarely that most of any film references will be completely over my head

I saw Hot Fuzz a few weeks ago and had a great time. I guess that I'll need to check out Shaun of the Dead and Spaced Out also.
